Giro Feature helmet review

Price as reviewed:

£69.99

At a penny under £70, the super-lightweight Feature is cracking value. Its low profile shape sits close to the skull and it feels stable and light, no doubt helped by the neat, featherweight chinstrap webbing — there are no adjustment buckles to waggle under your ears.

Head coverage at the rear extends right down the nape of the neck, but the temple area is slightly less shielded. With just 12 vents, there’s less air access than others on test too, but internally Giro uses a sculpted EPS inner mould to encourage through-flow. Ventilation is reasonable when moving, but at slower speeds it can get hot quickly and sweat often streams down from the thin padding in the brow area.

The Giro Feature offers a sorted shape, quality construction and dialled fit adjusters for a fair price, but it’s a warm helmet and we’ve noticed the polystyrene edges around the underside are already starting to look a little scruffy compared to the helmets that feature fully wrapped shells.
