What is a torque wrench you may be asking? (Why have you clicked to open this deal then I wonder… Hmm) Anyway. A torque wrench is a tool that makes a noise and/or deliberately ‘slips’ when you have reached a desired tightening force.
The classic example is stem bolts, which always seem to be designed specifically around a tightening force of 5 Nm. Which is nigh on impossible to judge accurately by hand. So, use a torque wrench and you can be sure that you’re not under- or over-tightening anything. Over-tightening can be just as bad as under-tightening by the way.
Torque wrenches can often be the only way that certain components – or combination of components – can be set up without having them creaking or clicking. Speaking from personal experience, having a torque wrench has enabled me to have a totally creak-free Renthal Duo stem.
This PRO BIKE TOOL is an adjustable torque wrench. Which means to can set it to tighten to different amounts of force. 4, 5 or 6 Nm to be specific. In the package are 3, 4 and 5mm Allen key bits and a T25 Torx bit.
