The year has finished on a high for Brandon Semenuk. He released his own brand of underwear, is credited with one of the best mountain bike sections of all time in UnReal and won his fourth consecutive Red Bull Joyride at Crankworx.

However, it hasn’t been plain sailing for the Canadian as this video by SRAM shows. While his finals run was smooth as silk, things weren’t as calm behind the scenes. Semenuk had struggled at every Crankworx event so far this year, including walking off the course halfway through his second run at Rotorua, so this was his final shot at tasting the champagne.

This put immense pressure of Semeuk, especially considering he was competing in front of a home crowd who were ravenous to see him take the win.

Semenuk steps to the top crash

We know we’ve shown you Semenuk’s winning run before, but it’s worth looking at the other angles and slow-mo that are on display here. You also get to see Brett Rheeder and Logan Peat crashing as they valiantly try and compete with Semenuk’s flawless run.

In the end Semenuk was able to produce a champagne-soaked smile and his unparralleled domination of the Red Bull Joyride continues for another year.

Semenuk will be competing at Red Bull Rampage later this year. Could he take both of slopestyle’s biggest crowns?
