Along with the Fox, Altura and Gore gloves, the Ridge vies for the title of ‘most minimal glove’. Leather makes up the palm, and a similar-shaped stretch-mesh panel covers the back of the hand. More open-mesh fits in a tapered panel along the finger edges, and shaping on the finger leather reduces bunching at the knuckle, adding to one of the least obtrusive gloves worn. However, if you’re just a little too big, finger-end seams can chafe. Silicon pads adorn the relevant fingertips and thumb, with a silicon Specialized logo gracing the palm.
A low-profile cuff is welcome, but the Velcro fastener can feel a little loose, partially due to the female Velcro part being prone to bobbing. But the fit of the rest of the glove makes this only a minor niggle.
