The Spinner 2’s wide-based, close-knit, rubberized mesh straps are curved in shape and fit close to the body before any further straps are tightened. Combine this with the chest strap that runs on rails for ease of adjustment, and you have a very stable bag. The vertical alignment of the rails adds a minimal amount of twist to the strap. Shaped ladder lock buckles also make fine adjustment easy and comfy.
Ripstop fabric for much of the bag’s make-up adds an element of robustness, despite the minimal weight. Two external pockets — with a mini-pump fixing — and one large zippered main compartment mean there’s plenty of room for spares and garments. Bungees further improve versatility, should you manage to fill the rest. The Widepak bladder is tough and easy to fill and clean, and a spring-loaded hose attachment means you do not have to unthread the tube to fill the bladder. A 5mm-thick closed-cell foam backing in the reservoir pocket prevents body heat affecting the contents temperature. The bite valve cover is a nice touch, but the lack of any hose clip allows the hose to dangle freely, preventing top marks.
