Like the Trek and Mace gloves, the 661 Comp errs on the side of protection rather than low weight but, thanks to sensible fabric choice, it does not feel as hot. With a single-piece synthetic leather palm, bar feel is up there with the Thor as being the best on test, and logoed stitching aids grip without adding bulk.
A large, branded patch on the three-panel back adds some warmth, but the seams are perfectly placed, and feel barely noticeable. Plastic knuckle-guards are similarly well positioned. Toned-down colourways are available, but no matter what your style guide dictates, these are well priced, comfortable and great performing ‘freeride’ gloves.
