This is one of the first Camelbaks to feature the DVIS back panel with increased airflow and added stability. It also has a waterproof main compartment with a roll down flap, a bit like the ones found on Ortlieb packs, making the Hoss ideal for multi-day rides or Polaris-style events where it’s necessary to keep your kit totally dry. The front pocket is more typical of a conventional Camelbak with compartments for easy-to-reach items like a wallet, mobile phone, keys, multi-tool or a snack bar. Finish and construction quality is exemplary. The only disadvantage that we can find with the DVIS system is that it makes the pack a bit heavier. All in, the Hoss is overkill just for regular trail-riding, but it’s still a great pack for its intended use.
