An excellent jacket but expensive
Built from three-layer Gore-Tex Pro, the Wear One jacket is made tough to withstand professional use — hence the pro-level price tag.
We found the fabric light and pliable, but at the same time it felt bombproof, so everyone took to this jacket, especially the instructors in our group that felt it would last the distance in their everyday jobs.
As with all Gore bike kit, it was beautifully made and well cut, with just a little bit extra room for layering up underneath, but not too much to create flapping or unnecessary bulk.
The lines were clean and uncluttered — two hip pockets all but invisible — while foot-long diagonal zipped vents under each arm easily opened on the move.
It’s nice to see Gore recognising even its best fabric needs help with high-intensity exercise.
The hood was excellent too, although we felt it could have been a fraction bigger to fit over the bulkier all-mountain style helmets.
An excellent jacket but too expensive to take top honours.
