Our favorite bits of social media from the past seven days

The past seven days may be a blur of mince pies, turkeys, presents and alcohol but it hasn’t stopped the pros from keeping us up to date on their lives.

Here are the best bits of social media from the past seven days including some of the biggest racing news of the whole year…

1. Aaron Gwin announced he is leaving Specialized for 2016. Apparently they wouldn’t pay what he was asking, we’ll let you know where he’s headed as soon as we hear.

“Hey everyone, that time has come for me to announce my departure from the Specialized race team. We’ve had an awesome three years together and I’m very thankful for the continued effort and support during my tie on the team

2. We’re glad to see Rachel Atherton got an invite to Sports Personality of the Year after all, even if she wasn’t nominated.

“The BBC do invite downhill mountain bikers!!”

3. Steve Peat‘s annual Christmas ride looks like a success with over 50 riders in attendance.

“Had a good Christmas ride yesterday, had the fast crew out and did a bigger ride, sorry to anyone who usually comes but missed it! Didn’t advertise and set off with about 55 of us. Cheers all.”

4. Do any of these take your fancy or are you #26forlife?

5. Tracy Moseley may have retired from racing but she’s clearly still pushing for enduro representation.

6. A #flashbackfriday to Nino Schurter showing that cross country riders can get rad too.

7. Looks like a wet day at the StrongherCC Christmas mountain bike ride… we dread to think what the ‘after’ shot looked like.

8. Tahnee Seagrave clearly missing the lifts of Les Gets… Also the scribbled-out bike is driving internet detectives wild, any guesses?

“This is me after pushing my bike up a steep hill 5 times and only getting 20 second downhills. Remind me why I moved away from chairlifts?”
