We just received a sample of the Flip Mino camcorder. It costs £119.99, sports 2gb of internal memory (for 60mins of video), has a li-ion battery, a good qulaity screen and a pop-out USB so you can put it straight into your computer without having to mess around with memory cards. And it’s all packed into a box that is the size of a mobile phone.
So that all sounds great, but the real selling point is just how easy it is to use – it is absolutely idiot proof. This may not sound a lot, but with so many gadgets requiring a Phd in manual reading nowadays, it’s truly refreshing to find a product that is good to go out of the box.
We’ve not taken any MTB footage with this yet, but we did take it to a London League cyclocross race yesterday and made this vid with it – if you can see past the skinny tires and funny bars, you should get a good idea of what the camera can do. For more information see www.flipvideo.co.uk
