Multi pliers allow you to mangle things straight because, as the name suggests, they are based on pliers. The Skeletool is an ultra slimmed down (lighter) version of a standard Leatherman and although it doesn’t have the usual array of features it’s top quality and the additional tools work. The wire cutters are sharp enough for gear cables, the blade is keen and there are two screwdriver bits for derailleur tweaks. The latter can be supplemented with a £20 bit kit. Not as versatile as the Crunch we tested two years back but an essential all the same.
