The season's starting to hot up with Leogang hosting the third round of the UCI downhill World Cup just a week after Fort William

The third round of the UCI downhill World Cup takes place this weekend in Leogang, Austria so here’s a preview video to get you excited for Sunday’s race:

Leogang has become a regular fixture on the World Cup circuit recently and is known for its fast, bike park style track with some steep, tricky sections.

Last year’s race saw a maiden World Cup win for Josh Bryceland. It looked like it would be snatched away from him by fastest qualifier Loic Bruni, but Bruni crashed on the final technical section despite being well ahead on time. For the women, Manon Carpenter was the clear winner as she stormed towards the World Cup overall title.

Also last year was Aaron Gwin’s tyreless run. Gwin punctured near the top of the course and his rear tyre was stripped off the rim. Gwin carried on undeterred and still managed not to finish in last place.

This year’s race is sure to be a cracker after Fort William blew the overall competition wide open.

The race is on June 14 and will be broadcast on Red Bull TV from 1:30 pm GMT. Check back here later in the week for more preview content including one of Claudio’s legendary helmet camera runs.
