The colours are based around a jumpsuit that was worn in very early incarnations of his Ziggy Stardust persona.

Random lyrics from the seminal Ziggy Stardust LP, through the plastic soul of Young Americans and up to the groundbreaking electronica of Low are scattered around the tubes, and Starman — Bowie’s entry point into the world of glam pop — is picked out in lurid green glitter along the down tube.

Can you say intricate? The rear triangle of the FF29 is painted to mimic a green and white jumpsuit designed by Bowie cohort Freddie Burretti, aka The Man Who Sewed The World.
