Martyn Ashton has just posted this mind-blowing update on Instagram. Thanks to an Indego Exoskeleton, he is walking again.

Ashton was a trials rider and star of the Road Bike Party YouTube series. He became paralysed in 2013 after a crash during a demonstration at the British MotoGP. His recovery has been well documented including an internet-breaking video of him riding at Antur Stiniog and a crowd funding campaign that raised £54,000 (8 times its initial target).

This is the latest development, Ashton’s first steps thanks to an Indego Exoskeleton. The Exoskeleton is a tool specifically designed for people who have suffered spinal chord injuries. It claims to offer gait specific gait training and “offers people with mobility impairments a new level of independence”. All we know is that it’s very clever and if it can help more people like Ashton, that’s all good by us.

We wish Martyn the best of luck throughout his rehabilitation.
