Yep if you hadn’t heard, Peaty has called it a day on his downhill racing career. He leaves behind a legacy spanning over 25 years of racing, 17 World Cups and one World Championship.
He is widely regarded as a legend of the sport and the mountain biking community came out in force to wish him the best in his future adventures. Here are the best tweets about the big man’s big day:

Cut Media did an amazing job on Peaty’s announcement video. the Norwegian landscape they picked perfectly portrayed the adventurous nature of mountain biking. Cheers is another stone-cold classic from the guys behind Danny MacAskill’s The Ridge.
The UCI
Big news for Mountain Biking, a true legend. Still one season to go! https://t.co/kDv0426rFG

Peaty and the UCI haven’t always had the smoothest of relationships (just remember the #notatradeteam debacle from last year) but they still were happy to wish Peaty well on his way.
