This is pretty much a Race Face Diabolus DH stem for riders on a budget. True it doesn’t have the Canadian-made product’s cache or attention to detail but it still holds the stem and steerer tube securely. It’s 3D forged then CNC’ed from 6061 series aluminium and has a shot-peened surface finish. There are no sharp edges on or around the four-bolt faceplate but we have two criticisms — the steel bolts don’t screw in smoothly and the heads rusted after one wet ride. This is par for the course for cheap stems, but it wouldn’t cost much to upgrade them.
