Guys,
Where is the best place to get bike insurance for, value of £3700.
I have got some quotes to have it on my contents insurance but its extortionate!
Recommend any specialist bike insurers?
Cheers

I'm with Equine and Livestock - they are pretty stringent on security measures, but the price was good.

Mind me asking how much you pay and what it covers?
What are the security measures.
Cheers
Marks and Spencer do unlimited cover with no particular security restrictions.
I always resent doing it as they always find a way to not pay out.
E&L were no good.
I'm on CycleGuard now, so far so good.
Just make sure you use their approved locks & read the small print.
They want high-grade locks on garage/shed for bike. I think they want the garage attached to the house, but I can't physically move that. Has to be locked to an appropriate object when out, and have the Gold rated lock on it.
The cover is for at home, and on the trail, even for racing (I think, not that I do). I know I am covered for organised events like Evans RideIt. Sum assured £2000. Think it might be around £14 per lunar month.

Ditto the M&S post from SLB, heard lots of good stuff about them and also Barlcays and Aviva, I was with Barclays but moved to Aviva as came in cheaper this year, that's up to 4.5k
I will third M&S, spoke to them as about bike insurance when we had to renew house and contents and the bike are covered under that policy (even the Whyte).
Still have E&L (until it runs out)and they are very strict on secure buildings and correct locks have to be used.

Cycleguard have been good for me...although it's only if i make a claim that I will really know.
Premiums always seem to be around 10% of insured value. Are M&S better than that?
M&S is just a home insurance policy with no exclusions. For £280 a year I had on and offsite bike theft cover, including from the car etc. At one point we had over £10k worth of bikes on it as well as normal home/contents stuff...
