Will my Shimano shifters work with the new sram xx? i.e. could I get away with buying the back block, front rings and mechs only?

no because the two have a diffrent way of shifting or something like that. so you would have to have some sram shifters to work with a sram mech
92% of teenagers turned to rap. if your the 8% that stll listens to proper music add this to your sig
yeh i pretty sure they're not compatible, i think you can buy relatively cheap sram shifters though (but who wants that?) and they'd work.
Keep it pinned...
The whole point of XX is that it's a completely new 20 speed system. 10 rear gears on a 1:1 pull ratio and 2 front rings and you have to buy the whole lot.(Shimano have had an 18 speed version out for about 2 years now)
It's aimed at racers not recreational riders, and if you need to ask if it's for you, then you don't need it.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
Eloquently put!

Okay, so maybee I am not so good or brilliant to have SRAM etc as I had to ask about it- I am just not woth it.
Anyway, I have an XT triple. Do I just take the big ring off, stick a bash guard on and put a double front mech on if I want two rings up front only?
Cheers
I also can't spell or tipe.
LMAO!!
You don't need a new front mech if you're converting from triple to double, just wind the H adjuster screw in so that it prevents the cage moving any further than the middle ring. Then yea, basically rip off the outer ring, bang on a bash guard and away you go.
