Evening all, my rear disk brake dont stop me like the front one does (on there own) is this normal as there is more weight on the rear of the bike/brake?? Cheers Paul.

This is normal. Front brakes will stop you quicker than the rear. I remember years ago when i did my motorbike CBT the instructor made us ride across the compound at 20mph then brake using only the rear. He marked the spot with a traffic cone. We did the same again but this time using only the front. To everyone's surprise we stopped alot earlier!

More weight is pitched forward and therfore on the front brake when deccelerating hard, the back often on it's own will lock up due to this. You often see larger rotors on front brakes for this good reason, extra power on the back is wasted but is good on the front.
Though I still use the brakes on the back momentarally and slightly harder than the front, with medum braking, you don't want to lock up the front or it's game over, back does not cause too many problems.
Very normal, play about with the braking to see what is best for you.
