Josh Bryceland and Loosedog Lewis go for a proper mountain bike ride amongst some proper mountain biking terrain – the infamous Gap route in the Brecon Beacons.

Whoever made the decision to put ‘proper English’ subtitles on this video deserves some sort of an award. Or at least a pat on the back.

If it was the idea of the director of this video – a certain Alex Rankin – then we wouldn’t be at all surprised. Alex Rankin is something of a cult figure in UK mountain biking.

Alex Rankin was the man (one man band pretty much) behind all those VHS tapes you had back in the late nineties and early noughties that very much captured a rough and ready part of the UK MTB scene.

A scene that – dare we say – Mr Bryceland and co are (sub)consciously attempting to bring back to the modern day scene with their 50to01 videos.

In this vid they stay mostly to the classic Brecon Beacons Gap route – which you can download for free here by the way – but we reckon there’s just a small bit of off-piste action round about the midway part don’t you? 😉

Fabric: “We headed off to the Brecon Beacons for a bit of an adventure with the 50:01 boyz, Loosedog and Ratboy. It was cold, mega windy and icy, but so much fun!
When’s the next one lads?”
