Joe Barnes rides for the Canyon Factory Enduro team, we caught up with him at round three of this year’s Enduro World Series at the Tweedlove Festival in Scotland where he showed us his Canyon Spectral CF.

Barnes had two options of frame for the race: the Strive, which has 160mm of travel, or the Spectral, which has 140. He chose the Spectral as he thought it would suit the course better, especially on the flatter second day around Glentress.

Joe runs RockShox front and rear suspension. He fits a 160mm Pike with one Bottomless Token at the front which gives him a bit more security on bigger hits than the stock build. The shock is a Monarch with an added DebonAir canister upgrade.

The standard tyre set up for Joe is a Mavic Quest front and rear. If it gets wet then he will normally  switch to spikes, but the well drained trail centre routes at Tweedlove meant he would not need them despite the rain. Joe rolls on 23psi at the front and 29psi at the rear.

Barnes finished eighth at Tweedlove while his team mate Fabian Barel finished fourth. Joe currently sits tenth in the overall rankings following a disappointing 21st at round one in Rotorua, New Zealand, and 12th at round two at Emerald Enduro in Ireland.
