It looks like Liam Killeen has well and truly put his nightmare 2007 behind him with a win in the 75-mile NMBS Marathon race in Arizona at the start of April. In hot, dusty conditions — much like those that will be found in Beijing — Killeen rode his competitors off his wheel to win. “I just tried to keep the same tempo going. I didn’t attack, just the other guys got tired and drifted back,” Killeen said. Hopefully the Specialized rider will be coming into top form in time for the Olympics.
