The first round of the UCI World Cup in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, was a roaring success with a massive turnout of 16,000 spectators.

It was a home win for the South Africans as Greg Minnaar took first place in the men’s downhill before being mobbed by an elated crowd. Meanwhile, Tracy Moseley celebrated her 30th birthday by winning the women’s downhill for the Brits ahead of Frenchwomen Emmeline Ragot and Sabrina Jonnier.
