Danny MacAskill and Cut Media have been nominated for a Scottish Bafta for their short mountain biking film The Ridge.

The film has been nominated for Best Single Documentary and will be running against The Bridge: Fifty Years Across the Forth and My New Hair.

The Ridge showed Danny MacAskill riding on his native Isle of Skye including an epic climb to the  top of the Cuillin Ridgeline followed by a hair-raising and death defying descent – our highlight is definitely the fence frontflip at the end though. The video gained massive viral traction and currently has 38 million views since it was released on October 2 2014, that’s roughly 100,000 per day.

The awards will be held on 15 November and will be hosted by Edith Bowman, she said: “t is with immense joy and a huge honour that I have been asked to host the British Academy Scotland Awards again this year. Any opportunity to celebrate and shout about the huge amount of talent coming out of Scotland is a genuine must for me. I can’t wait.”

Cut Media also produced the recent launch video for the Santa Cruz Bronson and Danny MacAskill’s Industrial Revolutions.
