After his disastrous ACL injury in the off-season, Steve Peat wasn’t expecting to make it to any rounds of the World Cup this year. However, his recovery went better than expected and he managed to be fit enough for the final round in Val di Sole last weekend.

In the latest episode of The Syndicate, a web series that follows the Santa Cruz Syndicate at every World Cup round, you can see behind the scenes of his first race in nearly a year. It wasn’t the most successful round for Peaty as he failed to make the qualification cut off, but to see him back on the bike will surely be heartwarming for the entire mountain bike community.

Also in this episode you can also see Greg Minnaar’s attempts to snaffle the World Cup overall from Aaron Gwin and Josh Bryceland’s struggles on the physical Val di Sole track.

New Syndicate episodes are released after every major race so expect another one after the World Championships in Andorra next weekend. After strong ends to the season, both Josh Bryceland and Greg Minnaar will be among the favourites to take the win. Unfortunately, Steve Peat was not selected to represent Great Britain but will no doubt be there cheering on his team mates.
