The 2016 ‘Ard Rock Enduro will take place on August 6-7 with tickets going on sale on October 30.

The ‘Ard Rock enduro takes place around Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales. There are three separate races available to competitors, the Enduro, which takes place on a 45km loop with five timed downhill stages; The Enduro Sport, a more relaxed affair over 35km, and the AM challenge, a 40km timed loop.

For 2016 there will also be a new Epic race, although deatils are sketchy at the moment we can’t be sure what this is but we reckon it’s some form of long distance challenge.

This event is pretty unique for its stunning location and open trails – with a limestone and shale bedrock there’s barely a tree to be seen. What it lacks in roots though, the ‘Ard Rock makes up for with steep, exposed riding and rocks. Don’t be fooled into thinking this will be easy, some of the stages are techy terrors.

Last year’s event saw around 1,600 riders taking part and the race is fast becoming a mini-festival with live music, catering and an expo area.

1,600 people might sound like a lot, but tickets still sell out quickly so make sure you’re ready to grab yours before it’s too late.
