Hope has just launched its 2106 range and we took a (short) trip down to Peaslake to see what it has on offer.

The biggest surprise is that the famous Hope green has been joined by orange. For a couple of years Hope has been working on new anodisation techniques that keep the colour for longer and it reckons that it now has it sussed. The colour will be richer than you see here and initially be applied to cranks, brakes and stems.

Hope also has a couple of new products for 2016. First up is the Hope R2, the Lancashire company’s new light. The R2 pumps out 1,000 lumens and can be mounted on your bar or on your helmet.

It comes with six different modes, but considering three of them are flashing modes, you probably only need to worry about the high, medium and low settings for off road use.

Second is the new cassette from Hope. It’s only compatible with Hope hubs but it is compliant with SRAM and Shimano derailleurs.

The cassette is made in two parts, one half is steel and one half is ally. It is a 10 speed with a range of 10-40t and there will also be an 11 speed with a range of 10-44t.
