You can’t tell from the photo but this WCS post has a new Wet Black finish. We wanted to find out as much as we could about this, but Ritchey has kept schtum and we’ve been asking for about two months! We know bits — it’s not powder coated, nor is it paint, and it doesn’t come off if you scrape it. It doesn’t add weight, but looking across the Ritchey range, it means around £3 more per product.
Like most Ritchey posts, the WCS is 3D-Net forged from a lump of 7075 series aluminium. It has a two-bolt head, which Ritchey says is easy to adjust, but that we find laborious. We sometimes wonder why after all these years Ritchey hasn’t designed a post with independent fore/aft and tilt adjustment. Overall, the WCS is heavier than claimed, but it comes in a comprehensive range of sizes and lengths and, with the new finish, should look this good for a long time.
