All the best social media from the past seven days

It’s been a tragic week for mountain biking with the untimely passing of Kelly McGarry on Monday dominating the headlines. It says a lot about Kelly that the mountain biking community almost unanimously turned to social media to express its sadness and there were some truly lovely tributes.

However, social media has also been full of the usual teases and updates, here’s the best of the rest  from the past seven days:

1. Well it’s been rumoured for a while but this looks about as close as you can get to confirmation. This Is Peaty is back!

For those that missed it This is Peaty was a web series following Steve Peat on his adventures with the Santa Cruz Syndicate. It was probably one of the best web series ever and we’re glad it’s returned for one last hurrah.

Who's got there #LastOrders in? #thisispeaty @monsterenergy

2. Here is the first official look at Aaron Gwin’s new bike. No, we can’t tell what it is either but in the comments Aaron does say: “This photo was taken from our team photoshoot yesterday”. If any internet detectives can identify the frame then let us know!

3. We love this animated illustration from @Sharpencil

4. Brit enduro racer Lewis Buchanan has joined BMC for 2016. Look at the gorgeous steed he’s hoping will be taking him to the podium next year.

5. At 10pm tonight (Feb 4) tune in to BBC 2 to catch the Clare Balding show featuring Gee and Rachel Atherton.

6. Never ones to take the off-season seriously, here’s Josh Lewis and Josh Bryceland at a graden centre.

7. There were many fitting tributes for Kelly McGarry this week but this one from fellow Rampage competitor Cam Zink really tugged at our heartstrings.

Oh buddy, I hope you're somewhere doing this right now… #mcgazzaforever

8. Looks like the Specialized Gravity Republic are taking things seriously this year. Here’s Loic Bruni at the Specialized Win(d) Tunnel.

9. Tracy Moseley and Katy Winton out on their first training ride together. Trek has a formidable line up of women with both the downhill and EWS world champions on its roster as well as up-and-comers like Casey Brown and Emily Batty.
