More exiting still, the lodge is located less than 50 yards from the final descent of The Wall trail, and a short off-road ride from the top of the Skyline trail – combine that with a proposed uplift service throughout the valley and Afan could realise its full potential.

The 17-seater uplift service will be begin operating next March, run by Afan Valley MTB, which will also provide bike hire, skills classes and training from the lodge. Paul Peet from Afan Valley MTB says the uplift will connect the three trail centres in the valley. “The lodge is already at altitude, so you can get to the top of the Skyline and the Wall easily,” he said.

Tredz Bike Shops will run demo rides from the lodge. There’s also a bike shop for repairs and those ‘whoop’s, I’ve left my pads behind’ moments.
