Surrey Hills trail revamp

Barry Knows Best, one of the most popular trails in the Surrey Hills, has been revamped with additional switchbacks and berms and re–surfacing to prevent the erosion that was destroying the trail. But the Hurtwood Control Trust, which administers the land, is asking riders to keep off for now, to let the trail bed in.

The trail is expected to be rideable by the beginning of December, after the rain helps the surface settle in.

Construction has been overseen by former Aston Hill trail builder Ian Warby of the Cyclists Touring Club (CTC), and paid for by a successful bid for Sustainable Development Fund money.
