Open to pro and amateur riders alike, there are five stages across Europe, beginning on April 26 and 27 in Northumberland.

The Mega, the third stage of the cup in July, is perhaps the best test for a mountain biker as it requires both fitness for the climbs and technique for the downhills.

After Kielder, the cup heads to Vallnord in Andorra on June 13-14, Alp d’Huez in France on July 10-12, Are in Sweden on August 29-30 and Flims in Switzerland on October 3-4.

The top 15 riders to finish at each stage will take a share of the €8,000 prize pot while the overall winner will drive away with a new Saab.
