British Downhill Series launched

British Downhill Series

Wednesday 6th January 2010

The British Downhill Series – the new name for the NPS from 2010 – gets underway on April 10 this year, at Rheola in South Wales.

The Series has been rebranded, but still caries a hefty accompaniment of prizes, prize money and remain the only national race series in the world with UCI ranking points. £10k in prize money and over £15k in prizes is up for grabs, plus the chance to earn enough points to head to the World Cup.

Parking and spectating is free and onsite at the DH Series, plus there's live timing and commentating, retail and display stands, catering and toilets (with toilet roll, organisers say). International invites have gone out and regulars like Steve Peat, The Athertons, Greg Minaar, Brendan Fairclough and Josh Bryceland should put in an appearance.

Details: Rd 1 - 10th and 11th of April at Rheola - South Wales Rd 2 - 8th and 9th of May at Fort William - Scotland Rd 3 - 26th and 27th of June at Llangollen - Wales Rd 4 - 7th and 8th of August at Moelfre - Wales Rd 5 - 25th and 26th of September Caersws - Wales
