    ride 2 work voucher

hi all, just received my voucher to the value of 1000 and i have to use it at evans. up until about 4 yrs ago i was an avid mountain biker, but things happened and been away from it. now i am back and so looking forward to hitting the trails again. the big ques is what to buy i am looking for a hard tail, fairly light, hydraulic brakes, rock shox tora forks and that loves to blast around the trails, was looking at the trek 6300 disc e 2010 and the trek 6500 disc 2010, also the spec rockhopper expert sl 2010 any opinions on these or any other would be appreciated, thx for help

    WTTF Bigsie

Can't comment on the bikes as I don't know enough about bike myself (still a newb) but judging from your name (bigsi???) you might want to give your height or weight as that may need to be taken into account when choosing a bike.

Also help if you can give some idea of the sort of area you will be riding in and what sort of riding you are interested in (downhill, trail riding, competions).

If you have a sense of humour you will fit in well, if you don't you might want to duck...........

    Re: ride 2 work voucher

Hi bigsie welcome to the forum.

The rockhopper came joint top of the dirty dozen test this year so is going to be a great ride. I don't know enough about the Trek's to comment, but I'd certainly expect them to be competent.
If you are a big lad or maybe going to bee a bit rougher than most ten you might wan to consider something build for the larger fellow such as the Kona Hoss. I'd also take a look at the Orange P7 for a good all round trail bike.

    What model you thinking?
    2010 SL @ 700ish with gear
    or
the Pro @ 1100ish and ride naked!

Or maybe try to pick up a 2009 one on the cheap.

Blooming, heck, It's been years but I have been around Devilla, many times in the past, even made a map for myself, is it still like this or has it changed, feel free to grab a copy from flickr.

As you can see I went investigating
