Can't help you sorry. Would love to know what 62a & 70a means though?
It refers to the coompound of the rubber used and how sticky - responsive the tyre is...Can't help you sorry. Would love to know what 62a & 70a means though?
that's all I can advise as I will leave the preference to those more acquainted with the trails you ride.
Ride hard but avoid the hikers
62a is more sticky, but wears quicker and will drag on tarmac. 70a is harder so lasts longer, but lacks a bit of grip. That's the theory.
I'm running 70a Maxxis Advantages on Lakes/Dales/Pennine stuff and have never felt short of grip, even on the wettest slimiest rocks. Maybe I don't go fast enough to create problems for myself!
Yep, It's all about the durometer test that indicates how much 'grip' a tyre may have in given circumstances.
70a will be fine for most real world applications but if you want a bit more grip up front you can put a 62a Super Tacky up front and a 70a on the back.
Unless you're made of money and/or a DH monster I'd advise against a super tacky on the back. I did this the first time I had tacky HR's and wore through it in about 2 months!
ok thanks for the advice think i will just stick with 70a front and back see how it goes if i need more grip in the future i'll just buy a 62a and keep the 70a as a spair
and with summer (ha!) coming up i shouldnt need too much grip :P
Thank you
