He'll be a distraction and something positive to focus on. I know when I'm down then having a mutt curled up with me or disappearing out into the fields with her improves me.....my black and tan dog helping with the 'Black dog'...

If left unchecked, ignored, or blocked out for too long then meds is often the best answer. Sporadic low moods will pass. We all suffer ups and downs in life. Sometimes counselling is a good vent. Sharing horror is sometimes not feasible in your protected space, at home with close family. Especially if you're the person that they look to for strength and guidance.

Formulating your own strategies to dissipate stress, anxiety, depressed states, is a good solution, prevention and contributory to your cure. Triggers are subjective. If it's important enough to make you ill, then it's important enough to do something about it. Ultimately, you're only human and when your jug's full it needs emptying. Recognising that fact is a good start on the road to wellness.
