Define good, the majority of cycle paths in the forest are gravel fire road based, the Verderer (http://www.verderers.org.uk/) don't take to kindly any riding which is not on a designated path. SO if you are looking for a nicely flowing single track then you will need to look else where.

Yup, there are nice routes through nice countryside but there's nothing singletrack or technical. I rode a 30 mile loop from the edge of Southampton to Lyndhurst and back again (from the north side of A35 and back on the south side) and my ride was fun because it was a night ride under lights but otherwise it'd be quite plain.

It is ideal family ride, very nice and picturesque but no excitement for a mountain biker.
