Okey Dokey peeps , we've managed to get this far lets not let it slip away now..... . Date and location confirmed and a possible meet time of 1pm ( gives everyone time to get there without having to be up at 'stupid oclock' ). We are aiming to get as many forum and non-forum bikers together as possible for a ride or two in Dalby Forest ,Yorks - NOT A COMPETITIVE RIDE so absolutely all are welcome from 0-100 yrs old , just a bit of a chance to have some fun and enjoy the best that the British countryside has to offer . Will hopefully have time to do two of the main routes and perhaps have a bit of a play around on the Pace bike park. For those of us that have never been , there are plenty of clips on www.youtube.com and www.pinkbike.com for us to have a look at and also a bit of info and some links at http://www.touristnetuk.com/ne/forest-enterprise/ . As yet the exact meeting point and time are unconfirmed but we can soon iron out that minor point - possibly around 1pm at The Purple Mountain Bike Center ( www.purplemountain.co.uk ) but as I have said this is AS YET UNCONFIRMED so please follow this post for more updates.
RIGHT THEN , WHO'S UP FOR IT ????????????????
IF YOU'RE NAMES NOT DOWN , YOU'RE NOT COMING IN ......LOL only joking
any suggestions for times / locations to meet are welcome as they are only provisional at the moment Lets do this people - it'll be fun or my name isn't Shirley Temple

Don't think I'll be able to make this one VT1, very disappointed but will defo meet up for another one some time! Been to Cannock tonight and rode the Monkey trail with new updated section, really sketchy as it hasn't bedded down yet! think it needs a bit more shoring up on the outside edge and a bit of rain to compact it and wash away the looser stuff! Otherwise bloody brilliant trail pixie piece of building that my hat goes off to top bloke/s

Hi TF , yeah mate you and your son are more than welcome , greeneyes bringing his nippers aswell so the more the merrier.
Hi Proph , couldn't of made Cannock tonight mate as late back from work , I agree it does need a little more bedding down as still dead loose - soon sort that problem out though , the stepdown turn back onto the original section is a bit of a ficky trucker - hit it flat out on sunday and nearly turned it into a downhill run ......LOL

My front wheel washed out on a later easy right hander, luckily I wasn't going too fast but still managed to rip my top and gash my arm on a tree!
Still loving it though!
I always say that F.T.D is tricky when wet due to the pebbles BUT I think its worse in the dry I couldn't keep the back wheel tracking the front (sliding every where/broad siding) it was well out of shape on that really fast and exciting section which spits you out onto the fire road before the very loose short climb!
Roll on the rain I say (just kidding)

Hi Guy's,
Proph I agree with you about FTD, harder when then pebbles are dry and dusty than when there's a bit of moisture to glue you down.
As to Dalby Oh Yes count Sir Q in, I'll see if I can chivvy up Typhoo and Copperjon.

After all the stress of making the table plan........
(not my stress, I was reading MBR funnily enough)
Think my Fiancee would actually have a nervous break down or explode or something if I suddenly said extra people were coming!
So i'm afraid your stuck bike riding at a great trail centre on what should be a lovely and sunny august day!
Ha ha ha - oh wait, actually that sounds like a good day not a bad one!

yes this is more like it, all you who dont turn up are guna be so jel when we keep talking about it here.
sorry doc, i have not been here before, i was guna but my 3 year old princess get the chicken pox so i never went.
looking at the dalby forest site there seems to be a few meeting places, the black run starts from Adderstone Field, while the red run starts from Dalby Courtyard.
i have emailed a lady called tanya who must work there to ask her what is the best place to meet.
surely it cant be hard, i bet there is only one main car park.

Several car parks......
Depends what your after!
Red route starts near the purple mountain bike shop..... and it quickly gets interesting!
If your after the skills park, dixons hollow, then you should park there! here you'll find the black routes / DH sections!
I'd recommend starting near purple mountain bike shop, low dalby (think thats dalby courtyard), here you'll find a bike shop, a cafe, toilets and a bike wash!
Handy both before and after the ride!
