BEST REPAIR MANUAL ON MARKET?

got a diamondback response comp with deore chainset and brakes. need a maintainence manual in ENGLISH not american so i can learn for myself how to repair/maintain etc.. what is the book on the market in your good opinion please?

Hi Homedeeth,

You can pick up a very good Haynes bike manual from Halfords, not the MTB one though as it doesn't cover a wide enough variety of part types. This is the one I started out with and has taught me everything I know, I built Mrs Tiggwinkle from scratch and really should start charging my mates for the services I provide .

Failing that the Park Tools bike manual is THE reference bible but quite expensive.

For me the way to go was with Haynes manual and t'internet to download schematics of parts that the manual doesn't cover fully enough. The Shimano technical website is superb, for instance, with expanded diagrams of all of their components.

yeah, I got the haynes 1, it's really great. seems to cover absolutley everything.

damn! just had the park tool book bought for me as a pressie, but my local college is doing a six week part time course ( 2hrs per week) for 35 for bike maintenace i might give it a look to see what it actually covers...
