i need my frame number to insure my bike.
i cant find it, its not under the bottom bracket where i would expect it to be, anyone help??
its a 2006 giant trance 1.

Hi Green , not sure but sometimes they are punched into the chainstays or bottom of seat tube , failing that mate I'm not sure - you could always email giant direct and they will tell you the location. Doc

cheers doc, looks like i will have to email giant, i bought the frame off ebay so im a liitle bothered the numbers may be gone if its been an insurance job bike broken up and sold in bits.
having said that it must have been done really well as i cant find evidence of a cover up.
i will look again tomoro as im done in now.

Try on Giants website, they may have locations of frame numbers etc in there tech section if they have one?

As you can see it says
On the seat tube near the Bottom Bkt shell, underneath the bottom bkt shell or on the left rear drop out.

chears very much for that proph, i followed your directions and there it was, weird being there as the swingarm can be replaced so there goes the frame number.
anyhoo i have just insured (following mbr's advice) my bike valued at £1500 and my sons bike valued at £600 from ETA, total cost was £114 for my bike and a further £51 for the boy's. not bloody bad in my book, check the insurance write up in this months mag.
