Hi every one, my first post. I have been enjoying reading all the posts, so i thought it was time to come out of the shadows and start my own post. Might even add a joke to the joke thread
Whats you favourite glove for XC, as i need a new pair? I am looking for protection and comfort for long rides something with light armour as i keep smashing my little finger! i have had Specialized gloves and the 661 Raji (the cuffs ripped after a week and the grips wore off the fingers in two weeks, not reccomended! in my experience) Looking to spend max £30.00
Cheers look forward to the replies?
If there are no replies i will go back too skulking in the shadows

Greetings david.
I read a review in a different mag (sssshhhh, don't tell anyone) of a whole load of different long fingered summer gloves, not sure if that's any good to you as there wasn't much on the way of armor.
Sorry, can't be of much more help than that.

Just bought Sombrio Cartels on discounted price (£19.99) on Wiggle. Very comfortable, well ventilated, well articulated. No specific defence on the little finger, but some protection across the back of the hand.

Hi David,
Still have my old Spech Enduro full fingered gloves, they have lasted for 4 years, stll comfortable, you cant buy those ones any more but their replacements would be very similar, worth a try around £20 last time I looked.
The ones I currently use the most now are Spech again but called Fortres(£40), despite having carbon Knuckle, thumb and various other pads I have not seen one that has anything for the little finger as yet, someone correct me if I am wrong, but to have that level of protection you are straying out of lightweight XC territorry.
As with everything you have to strike a balance somewhere.

one bit of advice david, make dam sure they have a nice soft snot wipe on them.
i did not realize how important this is until i bought some specialized full fingered gloves, they have a kinda smooth felt patch where the terry toweling bit should be, then to make matters worse the index finger has 'specialized' written up it with rubber letters, so when i attempt to wipe the snot after ablow out my glove slips accross my nose and the robber letters scratch my nostril, owch!!
welcome to the forum mate, get on to the 'get together' posts and see what you think.

I like them - had them a week now. Wearing them even in the warmer afternoons and they are cool.
