Ok so who is up for a one day trip up to Scotland, OR if you live up there already, a meet up at your local(ish) trails?
I am heading off from Staffordshire at 6am to get up there for around (hopefully) 9:30-10 am! then riding either Glentress or Innerleithen OR hopefully both depending on energy levels!!!!!!!!!!
Then head home later that day, just tell the wife (or Hubby) you won't be back till late, easy yeah? If you can get your mates to come along you can share the fuel costs and it won't be such a bigger deal.
Come on it'll be the best days riding you'll have this year (I hope?)

Dam I missed you all, my apologies, I was there. but the day before I got up at 4.30 and didn't stop until afer the witching hour,(work related, I was in Worcester on the 11th)
I didn't think you could fall asleeap cycling uphill but I nearly did on several occasions, and when I sat on a bench zzzzzzzzzz. But managed the red route with some black options, and was awake by the end. But not up to my usual speed.
I was keeping an eye on the lounge for something like this, and missed this one, hope you had fun despite the big puddles at least it was not raining too much on the day.
More warning and I'd be happy to go around with anybody.
GT is south east of where I live.

Hey Proph,
Trust you had a blast, sorry I had to bail on Friday but just a bit too iffy for me what with the weather, deserting Lady Q all day as she is at present and trying to squeeze in some triathlon training. My humble appologies. Next time perhaps. Did actually manage to take Typhoo over to Marin on Sunday though, 2nd time and even better than before. Also, thanks to Proph I was wearing my new elbow & forearm armour and managed to christen it, works a treat, bloody brilliant! 1st jump nervous but OK, 2nd jump in the series saw some good air and a nice landing, 3rd jump was like floating and the 4th jump ended in a huge stack 7m away from the takeoff point!! Bring it on! Haven't laughed so much in ages, armour rocks!

Guys I had a bloody long but totally awesome day! We set off at around 5:50am arrived at Glentress at around 10 ish then set off nice and easy up to the first orange freeride section
video here
http://www.27gears.com/video2.html
pictures here
http://www.27gears.com/glen.html
then pretty much messed around at the orange for a bit then rode the red route with portions of the black thrown in for good measure then we also added in the Ewok village which was good the See/Saw was good to try.
MTBLeague, Spooky wood descent was awesome as was Super G!
Then it was on to Innerleithen, now where do I start???????? ok I'll start with the 6 mile ascent to the Summit on already tired legs from riding three hours of Glentress (inc all the messing about and photo's) just as though the 6 miles wasn't bad enough the trail builder thought it may be a good idea to make the climb even harder by placing rock step ups every 50m !!!! Aahhh legs don't work anymore!!
BUT once at the top a quick stop for a few piccy's then it was the highlight of the trip for me...................... around 6 miles of descent (not all together) with the first two and the last section 'Caden Bank' being the best of all! unfortunately no pictures of the trail features at Innerleithen as it was soooooo much fun we just didn't want to stop to take any!
Wow what a day, got back at 10:50pm
Gonna try and get an Early sunday (7am start off) to Llandegla pretty soon some time, not sure when as I have loads on over the next month or two but will try and post on here when I have an Idea! maybe Mid Aug?

Proph I think you did see me there, when you were taking pictures of the exit of the section called the pie run, there was two guys who liked to stop and take pictures of the fun bits, I was on the Enduro and had a rather familiar T shirt on, MBR, and brown I dont' care as they allways end up that colour anyway.
At the Caf I was also asked by two guys what Innerlethen was like, they had a one or two colour print from internet, I said big up big down, and Claddon bank is like a fair ride @ Blackpool.
Sound Familliar!!!

I think I remember you or somebody, We were talking pictures of the exit from that Orange graded short cut through very slippery rooty section and you came up the bridleway, and maybe said something like "You must be having a good time grin on your face jumping out of that section" probably nothing like that but hey something along those lines?
did you have grey shin/knee type guards on to?
what a missed chance if it was you mate, oh well I'm sure we will defo be back again to nail the Black in its entirety then probably do Inner or Kirro on the next day!

At least I had woken up by then, yes they are the most worn scrappy scuffed 661 race knee/leg guards I or anybody else have ever seen, they have been through a lot. Oddly enough the elbow ones are in good nick!
I just went up to that point to try again the shiny new section just after the "pie run" exit where you were, as it only takes seconds to get there from the beginning of "magic mushroom" section, hence its name "Mushroom Pie", it looked like you were having fun and trying to get good photos, it obviously worked.
Next time, I'm up for it, going on hols for next 2 weeks, starting Sunday, means I'll get Saturday on the bike, taking the old one with me to see if I can find any interesting places to go on it.
May see you sometime rather than just bump into you (not literally).
