Have just done the C2C ride this past weekend in 2 day's and my body is killing me.
Somebody mentioned that the offroad section at Hartside was hard, boy we're they right. After 75 miles my legs we're like jelly but still attempted the offroad section and ended up walking most of it, then just when i thought i would die a passing support van stopped and offered me a lift. Many thanks to you guys although you only took me about 1/2 a mile you saved my life. Once on top of Hartside it was plain sailing down to Alston.
So if your thinking of doin C2C in 2 day's make sure you train, and when someone says there's no more hill's there bloody lying

Walking up the off road section isn't as easy as you would think either is it? LOL
Well done for completing it though mate. We're doing ours on the Aug bank hol.

Yeah, the offroad section is utterly pointless. Character building though, eh? Well done for completeing it in 2 days though! 3 is about right for me. Which other parts did you enjoy / hate? It's a good ride. Really worth the effort.

We stayed at st Bees the night before, so riding the 5 miles to the start on a belly full of beer from the night before and a full english wasn't too good, about 26-27 miles in there's a killer uphill.
I prefered the second day as in the morning it was up in the hill's, cup of tea in the ol' station cafe then rest of the way was mostly track's.
If any of you guy's live up that way you are soooooooo lucky what a place.
Also the climb out of Allenheads is a good one.
Looking back it was a really good experience, lot's of friendly people, sorry to the girl in the van if i squashed your choccie oop's.

Also after all the banter about Hartside's cup of tea, by the time i had got to the top they had closed, they shut at 5 on Saturday's dooooo. So i never found out how good there tea was, but found out at Hartside one minute your in the sun the next your in the cloud's freezing brrrrrr.
