Hi, I’m Gaby, My biking group is organizing a Bike & Sail trip in Turkey and we’re looking for bikers who are up for new adventures.
The idea is a trip that combines mountain biking and cruising in a wood-made sailboat (Gulet) in western Turkey.
We’re planning to rent an all-included Gulet that carries our entire equipment and follows us to meeting points at the end of the trail. We plan to cover about 20-40 kms per day, during 5 days of the week. The remaining 2 days are left for chilling out and touring the area. Having a “floating hotel” follow us around makes the trip a whole lot better, especially when our group of friends is the only one staying there…
The trip is scheduled for 17-24 August.
Here is the route plan: http://en.classic-cruises.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=20&Itemid=37

Hi Gabby WTTF
Checked out the trip -WOW!!! I am just about to sit an exam in sailing and was considering hiring a yacht for a long weekend in September - combining MTB and sailing seems a great idea. I cant make it this year as my summer holiday plans are almost finalised. I would like to hear how you got on though! Have fun

Hi Gaby, Sadly just returned from sailing (bareboat charter) in Turkish med (Dacta penninsula)myself so couldn't come but...... Weather fantastic, pretty hot for MTBing though.. Terrain, steep..dry and good tracks in evidence but like I say steep, you are either going up..or coming down. Water clear, deep, warm, loads of fish..make sure the gulet comes equipt with shnorks and goggles.. Local food fantastic, breakfast on fresh local bread, yogurt and honey..great start to any day...lunch..most gulets we saw were doing fresh fish barbies with salad and bread certainly smelled good wafting across the water....evening meals, would advise stick with seafood and salads, we ate on shore at local restaurants for under £25 for two...and don't overdo the OOOOzzo. And the Turkish people speak great english, love to chat..and are really welcoming. Hope you have a good time.
