OK, been looking at fox for a while now but cant really afford.
Ive narrowed it down to RS sid race, RS reba race or RS revelation.
They are in my price bracket.
Oh yes and im hoping these are an upgrade from my RS recon sl.
Cheers Ian

hmmm 2 very similar forks, and then the revelation....

which i think unless you get the u-turn version may be damaging to your evo8.....evo8's max fork travel recommendation is 130mm....now the rev's are 140mm, unless you have the u-turn ones which you can adjust to 130mm, not a bigg an extra 10mm im sure, but it voids the warranty on your frame straight away...

down to the other two for me, and by the sounds of riding you do is mostly xc? well the sid's all day long, they are both 100mm travel, i think the sids are lighter and all round better components inside, inluding black box motion control rather than standard motion control...

reba race are still top notch so if they are 100quid cheaper id go for the rebas, if they are only 20-30 quid difference id head with the sid's....they are used alot by racers who usually know thre stuff so id choose the sids if its purely xc like you said you do most of...

my bad its the sid team that get the blackbox motion control not the race, i guess its mostly down to weight on the sids then, theres a difference in weight between the rebas and sids, but that from looking at the specs seems about all that i can see........

id go with the sids if i was you to be honest, from what youve said most your riding is purely xc? not that the rev's wouldnt surpass your needs, but they are more of a do it all trail fork, where as the sids are down right xc through and through....a mate of mine used to have some sids and he swore by them!

The new SID's are supposed to be really good as a trail fork from what I've read. The old ones were an utter noodle, but the new ones are supposed to be light, stiff and plush. I think they'd be my choice if I was a bit lighter. With my weight though, I'd go for the 20mm Reba teams.

Off topic, does anybody remember the old triple clamp SID's from way back? What was that all about?
