Hey brij, just thought I'd let you know. I got back from llandegla today, first visit. I'm about average speed (don't really overtake folks, also don't really get overtaken). Without pushing hard and a few stops for a bit of pointless banter the black took about 2hrs. So if you want to plough on through, 1.5 hrs isn't too harsh for an average fitness person (which I'd like to think I am).

It's good fun and well worth a visit. Not sure when illl make it back but I certainly want to before the days get short.

It was pretty bad weather today with low visibilty but still had a great time.

the previous section follows along parralel to a road and then turns right up over a tricky tree root and then after 100 yds you come out onto a foot path which you would normally cross, turn left onto the fire road running parralel to the footpath and then turn right up the boring fire road.

instead turn left and follow the path to the VERY END of the tree line on the right and follow the singletrack up to the right. It brings you out to the patch of trees behind where people sit for a rest after the fire road climb

Nice one Fred think i'll give it a go then heard so much about it but never got round to riding it. I'll let you know how i get on. TBH it'll prob tke me a couple of hours as i have a tendancy not to rush and like a few chill out stops ( usually after hills )

Are you still talking about llandegla there? I ride there every few weeks and i'd love to find some new bits there.

Been today and cant remember seeing/riding that bit after the shed? i must have though!! Tbh the main thing i remeber is there seems to be a lot of uphills especially the annoying climb at the start!!! enjoyed it though that jump at the end looked massive i bottled it... Took me just under 2 hrs although ive been ill since saturday and only started feeling better yesterday and at times felt rough as hell and thinking to myself why have i come here today? Will defo go back later in the year i think. They are doing some really nice looking extra trails at the mo too. Oh and the bacon buttie was nice, but the best? I'm not so sure maybe that could be a new mbr feature.....

One thing i will say though as for grading if cannock chase is a red and llandegla is i think llandegla is considerably harder? Also for the first time ever i saw someone riding the red route wearing flip flops!!!!

Man, that's crazy. I hope it's because they forgot them, tried wearing sandels once, it really didn't work for me. Even though they are attached to my feet properly.

That log bridge is the most pointless trail feature i have come across - especially when you have to walk after someone stops!

I think it is there to get you over stupidly boggy ground. Yeah it's a ballache getting going again if you have to stop on it.

Now I'm really depressed-the fastest I've ever done the complete black run at Llandegla is about 1 hour 20 mins, with one stop and I've been going there 3/4 times a month for the last couple of years. I thought I was getting fairly fit as well!

Bloody well done if you can do it in an hour!

I'll just have to try harder.

Don't be depressed - this is Sir Q doing it in an hour. Not many people would compare against Sir Q on rides. The man does triathlons!
