No, the more the merrier, got to start somewhere, no person in their right mind just restarting cycling, would spend a grand +, this is the only option.
Why do we think Appolo, Shockwave and Trax, sell so many bikes, it may be the start of a long and lovley relationship with 2 wheels.

I posted with my tounge in my cheek! I agree though, everyone starts somewhere and there was an article in Singletrack recently with the Chipps doing a loop on a £90 bike from Halfords (rigid and 18 gears) and it did the job as a way into the sport.
That said, not sure anyone should be spending over £300 on the bike in the thread of the original post!

When you are paying for it, does Dick Turpin jump from behind the till to take your money??? Hard to see how you can get ripped off at a touch over £300, but hell, it is Halfrauds!!!!

Ok so someone in Halfords is in charge of pricing. Do they seriously sit at their desk and think, um Apollo £319 and GT Agressor £349.99, yep thats sounds good!
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/store...tegoryId_165499
Do they think they are similar bikes at similar prices. Don't they look at it and ask themselves, "Who will buy the Apoolo?" <<<<<<<<<<<<< (Edit" Genuine mistake but sums it up really!! lol )
Or maybe they have to advertice the Appollo at the stupid price then next they can say, Wow reduced from £319 to £99!!

Well it was an Apollo that took Neil Armstrong to the moon.... so do Halfrauds throw in a couple of boosters with the bike?
