anyone know anything about these brakes? trying to get as much info on them as possible  are they solely for xc use?? ive read a few reviews which suggest they are xc only, and others where they state the power is incredible etc.....they come as standard on lapierre zesty 914 @ £4k.....but having had a response from formula saying they have all the uses of the oro line with more power and modulation etc....which are standard on the lower zesty range of 314,514,714 ...... if this is the case, then surely the r1 will suffice for more than xc use and the zesty are all mountain bikes???? ahhhhhh help!!!

they're absolutely immense brakes. some of the best out there. you've probably seen this http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/components/disc-brake-systems/product/r1-brake-09-32765
they are described as a xc brake, but i should think they work perfectly well as a trail brake, like you said lapierre wouldnt put them on if not.

The K24s on my 714 were good stoppers at 180mm front and back and I prob weigh about 16st with my riding kit etc...
