The guy/gal called 'ibbo' is on the user list here. Why not make the comment here for the mbr staff to see and reply to? Scared as it is sh1t he is talking?

Meh, who cares. I can definitely vouch for the fact that every route that has my name on it I have ridden - so that's most of the Killer loops, UK trails and big mountains from the past 12months at least. How would we have taken the photos if we didn't ride rthe route? I mean, obviouly I could get the MBR helicopter to just drop us off at the scenic scetions, but it's a rickety old beast, and frankly, it's usually easier to ride. I admit sometimes we take photos in the "wrong" direction, but that's just because occasionally you see something that just doesn't look as good in the "right" direction. EG - there's only so many pictures of a man's mud covered bum you can print in a magazine before it finds itself positioned in the "special interest" section at Smiths

I didn't bring it up on this forum because i'd obviously get the comments that i have.I can't comment on any other mags routes because i don't read any other mags but the route i was talking about was from an old issue and was the section in question was totally unridable. Are MBR really saying they ride every route printed everytime they print it?It'd suprise me if they did. There have been a few discrepencies especially in the Dark Peak routes lately, such as a BW that was closed for Forestry work featured in a route a month after it was official closed and ripped up. The thread wasn't designed to knock the mag(which i've subscribed to for around 5 years)it was just a typical forum debate.I was under the immpression thats what forums are about. In future i'll remember just how sensitive the gang at MBR are and not make any comments.

Ibbo, you should bring it up here if you are going to bring it up, this way at least the people in which a discussion is about have a chance to defend themselves.

Tell me about it, I went over to hayfield for a ride, all the descent would have been better as climbs, all the climbs much better descents! It totally meant that an afternoons riding wasn't anywhere near as fun as it could have been. Me and my buddy felt a bit robbed after the trek almost all the way to Manchester.

Last year when I did the Edale Killer Loop (which went through Hayfield), we actually did it as a 2 day so that we could ride it in both directions. To be honest most of the trails in that area are good in both directions but eventually, having been up and down, we decided the loop going up Jacobs Ladder was more fun.

That's the annoying thing... My side of the peaks has edale and hope etc. which is just flipping fantastic riding... It's bit dishearteneing to drive to a new further a field location only to end up feeling a bit robbed, and the addition thought of, well if we'd have stuck near our local routes then we'd have not only had a bit more fun, but also had a good hour more on the trails. Most fo the Hope Valley (at least eh bits that I know) i great fun regardless of the direction you are going in..
Still if you don't try somewhere new you will never find something better than your current favourites. if you are going to do that, you have to be prepared for a little dissapointment sometimes. I think we're going to head back and do it the other way round sometime.
