Hi, I am a newbie to the forum, so firstly Hello to everyone!!
4 weeks ago I ruptured my achilles tendon. I had an operation to repair it and am now in a leg brace after having a plaster cast removed. The trouble is I have asked my consultant about excersises etc. once out of the brace in order to assist with getting back on my bike. He has been unable to offer much advice. Anything you have to offer would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!!!

Make sure your GP has you referred for physio as soon as you are able to start working on the ankle - which in my area means speaking to them as soon as possible as the referrals take time to come through. That is where you will get the rehab exercises from.

you may be able to get a self referal form from you gp surgery. I know I was given one (fnar) when my bad knee started to play up. Not sure if it will be any quicker. It's probably worth ringing your local hossie pysio dept, or contact your consultant (via phone, you can normally at least reach the consultant secrtary).

Cheers for the advice fellers.
I should be getting the physio through work(eventually...), but will also chase it up through the NHS as you suggested.
